PERSONALITY:
Life is not fair; this is Samatoki's quote and is widely how he views the world. It is not fair; it is not easy, but sitting around and whining about it isn't going to do a damn thing. There are layers to Samatoki, what you see on the outside, what you see of the inside if he lets you have in a little and then, what you see when he honestly trusts you. That is not to say any of these faces or layers are a mask; they are all, in fact, the makeup of who he is. A little more complicated than some of his actions can make him seem.

The surface layer is a rough, foul-mouthed, short-tempered Yakuza with a penchant for violence. Egotistical, he believes he is the best and proceeds as such. If something irritates him, isn't too his liking, or looks at him sideways, he can and will let his displeasure be known in a loud and possibly violent manner. When we first meet Samatoki, it is Jyuto releasing him from a holding cell because he was once again in some violent scuffle; it's clear this is nothing new, and we see it as the tracks progress. This is not to say he is violent or crass with everyone; women, in particular, he shows a bit more respect towards. And while he can be that crass and yes, even violent towards his crew (Mainly Jyuto), he does care for and respect them. He has a trigger word, and it is Ichiro. While the reason for his hatred has not been revealed, one thing that holds is he has no love and a great deal of animosity toward his former teammate, and bringing him up can and usually will set Samatoki off.

The middle layer, while not much different than the first, is what people who he is "chill" with but not incredibly close, will get to see. While they still get that first layer, they may also see a little more. Such as a bit more tolerance if they annoy him, instead of just punching them in the nose, he may snark or even at times joke with them. While these people will not know much about the inner workings of the man, they will see enough to know that under that first layer is a man who has some heart, if a bit locked tight and jaded. This middle ground is not much different than what he will show in regards to a woman either. While he is not going to be pushed around by a woman, Samatoki will also not hit one or be quite as crass as he is towards a man who gets under his skin. When he is in this middle ground regarding a relationship with someone, it is much the same, while he will not put up with bullshit,he gives some level of respect, and his likelihood of being violent is lowered. With women, it is non-existent, though, for all the things he will do, that is not one of them.

The third layer is where you get into the nitty-gritty, the things that make him tick. Those violent outbursts that are fueled by an overabundance of emotions that he is not good at expressing. Inside Samatoki is not only the anger but a man with a strong sense of right and wrong; I know it sounds crazy considering his violent tendencies, but it is true. He does want to make Yokohama better. Within him is a man who is much softer than you would expect when he cares and trusts someone completely some times that angry mask can go away entirely, and beneath is a man capable of a significant level of emotion. Unfortunately, he has spent so long not expressing them that even at this layer, they are still locked in unless he is prodded a little. Within this layer for him at the moment are at best three people, Nemu, his sister, who he loves beyond measure and is ridiculously overprotective of her; he would do anything for Nemu. If anyone were to do anything to her, Samatoki can and will lose his shit all over them; there is nothing worst that someone could do than to mess with her; this will not just trigger him but could earn someone death depending on how deep the transgression, as we see in Private Time, Nemu is probably the only person who stands a chance of ever genuinely breaking him, because he has built most of his life for her. His main task, his reason for joining the Yakuza even though it was not what he wanted, is all tied up in his little sister. Within this layer are his crew Jyuto who he has a love, hate relationship with, his crooked copper, so to speak, he trusts him and respects him entirely, but they do tend to grump and toss insults back and forth at each other; it's just their way. And Riou, who is the newest member of the crew but earned Samatoki's respect upon their meeting and impressed upon him that day with his fighting spirit. Sure he thinks he's a little crazy, and he kind of likes that; he'd be happier if Riou could cook with you know, real food and not bugs and shit, but it shows how much he cares for the other that while he may grump, may try to get out of it if he can when he can't he will eat that food to keep Riou happy.


Samatoki is a layered man as any man would be; he likes his sister, coffee, vintage clothing, booze, and tobacco. He dislikes being bossed around (This will set off layer one at an explosive level), hypocrites (The same thing, he will let you know he does not like your face), and bugs; I don't understand why bugs, but that is what canon has given us and thus he will not be messing with the bugs.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Can hold his own in a fight for sure with his background. His mic ability is called counter blow which allows him to absorb the blows from his opponents and redirect it while increasing it's power.
